Teaching and Learning Social Media

Page history last edited by Katie Anthony 2 years, 1 month ago

Welcome to the online course "Social Media Connections: Intergenerational Teaching and Learning."

The goal of this course is to teach young adults content surrounding the top three social media used among older adults (55 years old and above) and how to teach content surrounding those sites to older adults.

You, the high schoolers, will learn both the content knowledge of the social media sites that you will be teaching and gain the scaffolding skills needed to translate those skills to an aging adult demographic.

The social media sites that used in the course will be Facebook, YouTube, and Pinterest, which have shown to be the top three most popular social media among older adults in a recent study done by Pew Research Center
